CRESCO LABS MEDICAL CANNABIS CULTIVATION & PROCESSING FACILITY

When its ENR top 125 general contractor terminated its contract two months into construction of its cultivation and process facility in downstate Illinois, Cresco Labs was faced with completion bond forfeiture if it could not finish its project within Illinois’ six month schedule. CORDOS was referred by a Cresco Lab vendor, and jumped at the challenge of performing the impossible – completing the project within four months.

Contracting with Cresco’s program manager, Chicago’s Free Market Ventures, CORDOS immediately mobilized a team to the Logan County site and began completion of the partially shelled structure in mid-October 2015. CORDOS worked closely with the various specialty vendors to successfully complete the facility in late January 2016, with occupancy in early February, just four months after mobilization. Completion of site development was necessarily deferred until after winter weather, and in late spring, CORDOS successfully completed stormwater reconstruction, landscaping, and paving.

In spring and summer 2016, CORDOS also completed outstanding paving and landscaping for Cresco Labs’ other two Illinois cultivation centers in Kankakee and Joliet. During the winter, CORDOS also constructed Cresco’s state of the art culinary kitchen that produces edibles for the Illinois market. CORDOS continues to assist Cresco Labs for remodeling projects at its Illinois facilities.
