Paul Smerica joined Cordos in 2013, bringing over ten years of experience in construction and safety management. From the outset, he was assigned to complex, fast-track projects, consistently maintaining rigorous safety standards while delivering some of Cordos’ most demanding work.
Paul’s background includes serving as a Safety Inspector within the Occupational Health and Safety Division in the railroad transportation field. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on Construction and Transportation and has a proven record of completing challenging projects on schedule and within budget
In 2018, after establishing a strong working relationship with the Chicago Housing Authority’s Capital Improvements Division, Paul began leading CHA’s Job Order Contract (JOC) program. Under his leadership, Cordos completed more than 50 fast-paced unit remodels, often managing up to ten concurrent projects in close coordination with ownership and CHA design teams.
Paul continues to contribute his expertise to high-profile projects, including Kern Precision, Inc., a CNC manufacturing facility and showroom; Verilife Romeoville, a cannabis retail facility; City of Chicago Projects; and several Chicago Public Schools projects.
