Paul Smerica joined Cordos in 2013, bringing over 10 years of experience in safety and construction to the team. He began working on challenging projects with fast schedules, maintaining safety standards while completing some of Cordos’ most demanding work. In his previous career, he acted as a safety inspector for the Occupational Hazard and Safety division in Romania’s Ministry of Labour, with a Masters in Economics in Construction and Transportation. Paul has a rcord of completing the most challenging jobs within schedule and within budget.
After developing a strong rapport with the Chicago Housing Authority in their Capital Improvement division, in 2018, Paul began to spearhead their Job Order Contract (JOC) program, completing over 50 fast-paced unit remodels in just a few short years. Coordinating closely with ownership and CHA’s design teams, while managing crews on up to ten concurrent projects, Paul’s organization and ability to work through challenges enabled him to excel in a challenging program of projects.
Paul continues to provide his expertise on high profile projects, most recently Kern Precision, Inc., a high precision CNC factory and showroom, and Verilife Romeoville, a cannabis retailer.
